St. Paul’s Garda Credit Union Ltd. is commencing the process of selecting suitable candidates for nomination to the Board of Directors and Board Oversight Committee at this year’s Annual General Meeting, taking place in December 2025.
Who can apply?
- All St. Paul’s members aged 18+ (Garda, Garda Staff and Reserve, Retired and Family members) are entitled to apply.
- All serving Directors and Board Oversight Committee members are re-elected by rotation every three years (as required by law).
Desired skills & experience
We welcome applications from members with experience in any of the following areas:
- Finance & Financial Services
- Credit
- Market (Investment) & Operational Risk
- Marketing
- Information Technology
- Project Management
Fitness & Probity
All Credit Unions must implement a Fitness and Probity regime. All candidates must meet the minimum standards applicable to Volunteers on the Board of Directors and Board Oversight Committee.
Training & time commitment
- Successful applicants will complete an induction and an accredited training programme to ensure they have the knowledge and skills to carry out their role responsibly and effectively.
- New applicants must ensure they have sufficient time to devote to the role and its responsibilities.
- Please note: these roles are voluntary and unpaid.
Role & legislation
The roles of Directors and Board Oversight Committee members are set out in the Credit Union Act 1997 (as amended).
